I was shocked when I saw this article appear in my newsfeed yesterday:
Rob Ford was the mayor of Toronto, being elected there in 2010. He became prominent in the news in 2014, in the months leading up to the mayor election of that year, due to his drug use and erratic behaviour. Ford withdrew from re-election when it was discovered he had a cancerous tumour. That cancer has since killed him.
On one of the days before his death, I thought about Ford and wondered what he was up to. He was a councillor in Toronto and had intended to run for mayor again.
