The canola field

When out on my walk this afternoon I walked through this field of canola plants:

A pungent odour emanated from the field because of the high concentration of canola plants. I'm pleased with how the second image turned out; I like the contrast between the yellow of the canola, the green of the trees and grey of the clouds. I took these pictures with my phone.

  1. Very pretty. Your phone takes some good pictures.

    1. Thanks. :) It does when there is decent light available.

  2. I thought this was called rapeseed - or is it the same thing? or is my citygirl ignorance betraying me :P anyway, I think the golden fields you find this time of year are stunning.

    1. Yes, it does go by that name, although I am uneasy about using it; I do prefer "canola" as its title.

  3. Canola smell can be overpowering... just like the colour of those fields!

    1. It does have a strong smell; I don't mind it so much but my mother doesn't like it at all.

These field have lost much of their colour now and many of the plants have shrunk; I was lucky I took these pictures when I did.
