So this amusing event occurred three years ago:
Yes...I recall that well! My English teacher and I gave a demonstration of a sashay after no one in the class knew what one was. Unfortunately for us, it was the worst demonstration of a sashay, ever! It was much fun, though, and brought about several good-faith laughs.

Liveland History: 7th Novenber 2012
Five years ago today, I wrote my analysis of the results of 2012 United States presidential election:
What a truly great day that was - the United States had just re-elected its first African-American president. Those who were determined to cause him to only serve one term had failed and things were looking up. Then, four years later...what happened? America took several steps forward with the election and re-election of President Obama and then leapt twice as much back when it elected the current president. What a severe disappointment.

Liveland History: 16th October 2014
It was three years ago today when my Pre-Access classmates and I visited London as part of a course trip:
We visited the Imperial War Museum and then the two friends with whom I spent the day and I walked to area where the Palace of Westminster is located. I later posted some pictures of the trip.
My first-ever term at Central is almost a "forgotten term", as it was the only term that occurred before Dad's death. Quite a few events occurred during that term but given what happened in January of 2015...

Liveland History: 8th October 2014
It's been three years since I froze some brownies:
I froze them because I had an excess of brownies and they were starting to go mouldy faster than my grandparents and I could eat them. The freezing experiment was a success but to my recollection, I have not frozen any brownies since then.
Also of note in that post from three years ago was the small part about walking and weight gain. It was much easier for me to keep weight off back then than it is for me now.

Three years ago, I shared my baking in Pre-Access
I ended up starting a trend by doing so, although the reason I brought brownies in the first place was because another classmate had brought store-bought muffins in on the preceding Thursday. After our contributions, people would bring in baked or bought goods to class on a Thursday and the tradition lasted until almost the end of the year.

Liveland History: 4th September 2014
Three years ago today, I had my second-ever class at Central College Nottingham, during my Pre-Access course:
It was the first Sociology lesson of the year. The teacher of that class went on to be my course leader for Access as well as the teacher I had the best interactions with. Even now, she and I still communicate with each other, mostly via text.
In that lesson, I spoke up somewhat in the group I was with and during the brief induction, I had ruled out the Poland trip for that year. In retrospect, that was a good decision and at any rate, I travelled to Poland the following year and enjoyed it far more than I would have done if I'd gone in 2015.

Liveland History: 1st August 2014
Three years ago, I helped my oldest younger cousin move from one accommodation in Lincoln to another:
That was her second of three residences in Lincoln and took place before her second year began. I met some of her then-housemates but only briefly.
This took place during the week of my first visit to Central College Nottingham's Maid Marian Way campus, where I'd be for the subsequent two years; I was interviewed about which Pre-Access course I wanted and I met a future classmate in the session.

Liveland History: 3rd July 2014
It's been three years since we saw the Avro Vulcan XH558, The Spirit Of Great Britain, flew over our house when we lived in Northamptonshire:
XH558 was the last of its class to remain airworthy; sadly, in October of 2015 its flights came to a halt. The three major companies that helped the Vulcan to the Sky Trust to maintain the aircraft all withdrew their support and the plane lost its certification to fly. For now, the XH558 is retired.

Five years ago, I posted some of the pictures I'd taken of Carrie Underwood's concert at the Royal Albert Hall, which occurred a few days earlier on the 21st:
That was the first concert I ever attended as well as my first time in London since moving back to the United Kingdom. There's not much to add here other than it was an all-around good evening and it was a pleasure to come across this old post again when seeing what I'd written on this day in past years.

Liveland History: 10th April 2014
So, it's been three years since this happened:
Three years...Pre-Access - done. Access - done. First year of university - almost done. Much has changed since that interview, including the campus at which my interview took place; it has been demolished and there's a housing estate in its place. I shall post tomorrow a picture of where the West Bridgford campus was located.

Liveland History: 5th March 2012
Five years ago, I had just finished a "Short Stories" serial called "The Garden Dance":
My intention had been to write it as a one-page piece but I had enough content for three. "The Garden Dance" was based on a vivid dream I had back then; perhaps unsurprisingly, I recall very little of the dream nowadays.

Liveland History: 17th February 2012
A seemingly minor event from five years ago suddenly means so much more now:
On that day, I went for a walk with Dad and my brother; on said walk, I ended up taking them through mud. Sadly, I don't remember, so that blog post (and a possible diary entry, if I wrote a comprehensive one that day) is the only memory I have of it.
A walk through mud - or through anywhere - with Dad is now a distant part of my past; those days died when he did.

Liveland History: 3rd February 2013
Four years ago today, I wrote about the prominence of Bruno Mars in then-current music:
I wrote about how impressed I was at all the success Mars had experienced from 2010 until that time and how he was someone I constantly heard on the radio. To my knowledge, Mars is still producing hits but I haven't heard them given that it's been ages since I last regularly listened to the radio.
For what it's worth, I still think that Bruno Mars is a highly talented musician.

Hard to believe that this was three years ago now:
Dad really liked that then-new bumper for his phone, even if it did add to the bulk of the device. He loved the kickstand and being able to watch videos in the kitchen without having to prop the phone up with another object. I wrote again about the case here and a picture of a similar (but not exact) case can be found here.
After his death, Mum retired the case and has ever since used its original bumper.

Liveland History: 4th January 2013
Wow...it's been three years since this:
While I wasn't overweight, I was concerned about my weight back then and my propensity to rapidly consume foods such as chocolate. Nowadays, I still am concerned about my doing such a thing: During Access, thanks to eating too many sweet items and not exercising enough, I ended up reversing all of the weight losses I'd made from 2013 to late-2015. Since the summer of 2016, however, I've been reversing that trend, as I have been walking regularly again.

A bridge to the past:
The bridge is located in East Carlton Country Park, a place where my family and I visted a few times. We mostly went on hot and sunny days but I seem to recall the visit in the aforementioned post being on a cooler occasion. My brother and I wandered off and walked around to explore the park and photograph the vicinity.
East Carlton is also a "Thankful Village".

Liveland History: 22nd October 2012
For Liveland History, here is a post from this day four years ago:
I wrote about Ryan Cabrera, a singer who was popular in the 2004-2006 era of American pop music. The post documented my disappointment that Cabrera has been under the radar since his musical peak in the mid-2000s.
My post also mentioned that he had been touring. While he doesn't appear to be doing that at the moment, a Google search shows that he is still active on Twitter and that he has an indie project called Beyond the Sky, under which he released the song "Whatever, Whenever" in August of this year, as well as a song called "Right on the Money", released back in February.
Cabrera might be under the radar but he hasn't disappeared, that's for sure.

Liveland History: 15th September 2013
For this segment of Liveland History, here is my post from three years ago, "Potentially Bad Timing":
It was a clarification post after I had written two pieces, one positive and one negative, about Robin Thicke in a short space of time. However, I reckoned I wrote the clarification more for my own benefit than anyone else's.
Three years ago, Thicke was highly prominent in the news. Nowadays, after his divorce and controversies...not so much. In the aforementioned article, I noted that Thicke was once known "for a decent song rather than bizarre stunts and controversy.".At the moment, he and Pharrell are appealing a copyright infringement case against "Blurred Lines".

Three years ago, my brother photographed a terrapin living in a local pond:
The terrapins still inhabit that pond, as far as I'm aware. My brother has occasionally gone back to check and he's seen activity of them. The red-eared sliders sure are a beautiful species of reptile.
