Berating someone

When I caught my bus this afternoon, two people were at the stop waiting for it. Neither seemed in a bad mood when the bus appeared, one of them went ballistic at the driver for being late (the driver had apologised on arrival. The person demanded to know that "excuse" the driver had; the driver said he didn't have one and that a marathon in a nearby town had disrupted traffic and prevented the bus from arriving sooner. When the passenger departed, the driver laughed and wished the man a good day, so I'm hoping the man apologised.

Berating the bus driver achieved nothing. He was already upset from being late due to circumstances beyond his control. The other man showed poor judgment from yelling at someone.
