When do you take them down?

My parents usually take down their Christmas decorations in the early New Year and my grandparents are the same with theirs. On the other hand, I have observed some houses and stores that are still decorated...more than three weeks after Christmas, now.

When do you take down and put away your Christmas decorations?

  1. Usually after New Year's Eve - on January 1st. However, since we bought a live Christmas tree this year, we took the tree down on December 27. The rest of the Christmas stuff came down on January 1st.

They might still be decorated because they might celebrate the 12 days of Christmas. My Irish relatives celebrate that and don't take things down until January 6th or 7th after the Epiphany. They're Catholic, but I'm not sure if Protestants do it as well.

    1. Early January is fine but mid-late January seems odd. Then again, no need to judge is someone is happy keeping their Christmas decorations up late. :)

  2. The day after. ;-)
